(This wasn't for an actual client; it was for a class in college.) The history of Butcher's began in 1987, when Graham Baker founded a modest, family-run business. It has grown into a global corporation over time. Currently, it is the No. 2 brand among British manufacturers of wet pet food and the No. 3 brand overall in terms of petfood revenue. The goal of Butcher's has been to meet the nutritional requirements of dogs and cats ever since it was founded in order to give each of them all the nutrients required for specific breeds and to satiate the demands of even the finest animals.

Packaging Design
I've observed from browsing at the competition that most pet food packaging is fairly basic and uses a lot of old-school photographs. Because the colors do not indicate the flavor of each product, the consumer must spend more time determining the flavor and choose which products to purchase.
My design is solely comprised of illustrations, and I've chosen one color—blue for ocean fish, orange for chicken, red for beef, and pink for shrimp—for each of the flavors. To make it easier for buyers to identify the cat foot and pick it out swiftly; I included an illustration of a cat in the center.
In order to provide every pet with the nutrients they need, Butcher's has strived to satisfy their nutritional needs. I was instructed to come up with a design that prioritized things like customer appeal, color contrast across flavors, design simplicity, and modernism. I've noticed that the majority of pet food packaging is rather simple and makes use of photographs. The consumer takes more time deciding which flavors and items to buy since product colors do not convey flavor. The majority of my design consists of illustrations, and the tastes are all different colors. I placed an illustration of a cat in the middle to help customers quickly recognize it's cat foot.
